Not at all. No one is too old for martial arts. The benefits of martial arts training start with those as young as 3 and continue for those over 100 years old.
We have a great focus on safety here at USA Martial Arts. With that said, it is possible to get hurt while training. The most common martial arts injuries are sprains, strains, cuts, and bruises. Training in martial arts is far safer than most physical activities you can do.
it is best for beginners to have at least two classes per week. at higher levels you are likely to want to add another class to the minimum for a total of three or more classes a week. This training schedule will normally promote a good growth in learning.
There are always risk when injured. We advise you follow your doctors recommendations in this case. We are glad to work with your doctor in helping you train while recovering from an injury. Talk to us and let us know what is going on.
